Bridesmaids With Color

Who says your bridesmaids dresses have to match or that they all must be the same length and style? Let them all wear a different color dress or have them wear the same print, but have each dress a different length and/or style. Each bridemaid can have a dress that matches their own personality and taste.
The dresses can also coordinate one another with matching flower bouquets, shoes, and accessories. Your bridesmaids can also wear similiar if not the same hair style. With the same hair styles they will correlate one another, but allow some difference between them.

Wedding shoes can be a pretty important item to purchase. Most brides tend to go with white or ivory, but I like a little funk. A friend of mine wore hot pink stilettos under her gown. They were by far the cutest shoes I had ever seen and yet looked very fashionable under her dress. Whenever she sat down or picked up her dress you received a glimpse of her hot pink pumps. So does that mean you have to wear white or ivory? No! When searching for your heels, wear your favorite color or match the bridesmaids dresses. Who says you can't have the best of both worlds?

Bridal Budgeting

In this economy planning a wedding can be tough, so Does the Dress Fit wanted to help. We have come up with some tips that may be helpful during your wedding planning. Be sure to set a budget for yourself before any purchases or searching. You don't want to fall in love with a beautiful country club for your reception and then come to find it will eliminate your entire budget. We are also happy to help you with any questions, tips, or concerns you may have for your wedding. Just comment on this weeks featured post or contact us through email. We will be happy to do the research for you and inform you on whatever concerns you may have.
*First off, your reception will take a large chunk of your funding. This may be the very first thing to take care of on your list. Decide where, when, what food, and how much. Many times the reception hall or country club will take care of the cake, decorations, food, and alcohol for you. Sometimes getting the whole package can save. Many times halls and country clubs lock in on the 3-4 hour time period. If you want your reception to last longer than that, you will have to shell out another few hundred dollars.
*The dress is your next concern or was probably the first or your worries. When you know your entire wedding budget decide how much you would like to spend on your dress before you go shopping. I can't stress that enough. Do not and I repeat do not go shopping before you have your budget. It's best to know what you want to spend before you spend it. This way you go in with a positive attitude and know your spending allowance.
* The guest list can make you or break you. Obviously, the more guests you have the more money you will shell out. Be sure to have just immediate family and close friends. If your paying per plate and on average a dinner for your guest will cost you about $40. If you can manage to cute just twenty people, you just saved yourself $800.00.
*Purchase your wedding cake from a grocery store rather than a private baker. I've seen some pretty impressive cakes that not just look better, but taste better than some that were done through a baker. A baker can cost you $1000.00 for a simple cake, where the your local grocery store can reduce that price by more than half.
*Favors can also be pricey and damaging to your budget considering you must give each guest one. Do something simple like M&M's, flowers seeds, or cookies. These are inexpensive gifts that they will love because they can eat them or plant them and they save you money.
*When hiring a photographer make sure you get to see their portfoilio and that you love their work prior to giving them a down payment. Once your sure you love their work have them give you a CD of your wedding photos rather than having them make you an album. That can cost thousands for albums. You can take your pictures, upload them to Kodak and create your wedding album through them. This will save you literally hundreds of dollars. I did this same exact thing and made albums for the parents and grandparents. I only spent $250 on four albums. You'd be lucky if you could receive just one album for that price from your photographer.
*When choosing flowers for the wedding also go in with a budget of how much you need to spend. Pick flowers that are full and have many flowers on one bud. The bigger the flower the less you need of them.

We are coming to that time of year when the popular wedding months are over. Summer months tend to be some of the busiest wedding months of the year. Because the peak is declining, that means you can find some hot deals on items for your wedding. One of those items are wedding announcements. Many websites have incredible deals and sales going on. For instance, I noticed that Wedding Paper Divas has a special summer sale. Rexcraft has free shipping on all orders over $99. Invitation Consultants has promotions on select invitations. The Green Kangaroo has twenty invitations that are less than $450. So before settling on just any invitation make sure you do your research and see what kind of deals you can find.

Here are a few tips to make sure you look your very best on your big day. These ten tips will ensure you feel beautiful and vibrant as you walk down that isle.
Tip One: Choose a lip color that will brighten your face. You don't want flashy or over applied, but you want something that will brighten your lips. Many lip glosses and lipsticks have a stain so that you don't have to re-apply every thirty minutes.
Tip Two: Use waterproof mascara. Most brides do tend to cry on their big day, this way you won't have black streaks running down your face.
Tip Three: Be sure and have a trial makeup run with your makeup artist. This way you both know what you want and little time will be wasted.
Tip Four: Stick with lighter shades of eyeshadow. Brides are supposed to be natural and flawless.
Tip Five: Don't forget blush! This will give your face that natural glow.
Tip Six: Apply foundation sparingly. Apply down you neck, but stop there. If you apply it to your chest, you risk the chance of it getting on your wedding gown.
Tip Seven: Use an eyebrow pencil to touch up spots that may have been over plucked.
Tip Eight: Eyeliner is a great tool to help enhance those eyes and make them pop.
Tip Nine: Add just a little bit of perfume behind your ears. Your husband will appreciate this!
Tip Ten: Don't over apply anything you use. Sometimes when getting ready for a big event we tend to over use. Limit the amount of makeup and perfume you apply. Too much and it may be over kill.

Choosing your wedding favors can be a difficult task on hand. You want to make sure it is memorable, but also not something that will be tossed aside and forgotten. A very popular item brides have been using are seed packets. I mean who is going to throw seeds away? All women love to plant and garden. As your plant grows, it serves as a constant reminder of your wedding. It's a gift your guests are sure to love, it's very “earth friendly”, and symbol of your special day. Check some out at My Jean M and Beau Coup.
